While for now it is mainly used as a form of investment and as a store of value, I think that there will come a time when decentralised digital currency really manages to come at par with traditional currencies. This may be a long way off, but I do believe that it will happen. Transactions can be carried out easily, the fees are negligible and it has various advantages when compared to actual physical cash.
