What types of markets can be traded through Digital 100s?
Digital 100s can be offered on a variety of financial markets, allowing traders to speculate on whether an underlying market will reach a particular level or satisfy a specific condition by a set expiry time. The markets available depend on the trading platform and jurisdiction, but commonly include forex, stock indices, commodities, and individual shares.
Forex markets are frequently used for Digital 100 contracts. Traders may speculate on currency pairs such as EUR/USD, GBP/USD, or USD/JPY. Because currency prices can change rapidly, traders often consider market trends, economic announcements, and volatility when analysing these contracts.
Stock indices are another common category. Digital 100s may be linked to major indices such as the S&P 500, Dow Jones, or other regional benchmarks. These instruments allow traders to speculate on broad equity-market movements rather than individual companies.
Commodities can also be available. Gold, silver, crude oil, and other major commodities may serve as underlying markets. Their prices can be influenced by factors such as supply and demand, interest rates, inflation expectations, geopolitical developments, and economic data.
Some platforms may also provide Digital 100s based on individual stocks. In these cases, the contract's outcome is linked to the price movement of a particular company. Availability can vary considerably between platforms.
The underlying market does not mean that traders directly own the currency, stock, index, or commodity. Instead, the Digital 100 contract provides a predefined outcome based on the underlying market's price at or during the contract period. Before trading, users should check the platform's available markets, contract specifications, expiry conditions, pricing, and applicable regulations because these can differ by provider and location.
