What is the Ultimate FVG + OB + IDM strategy?
The Ultimate FVG + OB + IDM strategy is a Smart Money Concepts (SMC) trading approach that combines three important price-action concepts: Fair Value Gaps (FVGs), Order Blocks (OBs), and Inducement (IDM). The goal is to identify areas where institutional-style buying or selling may influence price and then use multiple confirmations before entering a trade.

A Fair Value Gap is an imbalance created when price moves rapidly, leaving an area where relatively little trading occurred. Traders often watch these zones because price may later return to rebalance the imbalance. An Order Block represents a significant area of buying or selling activity, commonly identified before a strong displacement move. IDM, or inducement, refers to liquidity that can attract traders into premature positions before price makes its intended move.

In this strategy, traders generally begin by identifying the higher-timeframe market structure and directional bias. They then locate relevant liquidity, Order Blocks, and Fair Value Gaps. A potential setup may develop when price takes inducement liquidity, reaches an important Order Block, and reacts around an FVG. Confirmation can come from a lower-timeframe change in market structure or strong displacement.

Risk management remains essential. Traders can place a stop-loss beyond a logical invalidation level and target opposing liquidity or another significant price zone. A favorable risk-to-reward ratio may make the setup attractive, but no combination of indicators or concepts guarantees profitable results.

The strategy is therefore best viewed as a structured framework rather than a guaranteed high-reward system. Successful application requires practice, backtesting, patience, disciplined execution, and careful risk management.
