What are the passive and active ETFs?
ETFs can be passively managed or actively managed. On February 18, 2022, there are around eight ETFs focused on gold mining companies, excluding inverse, leveraged, and funds with a small amount of assets under management (AUM).
Most actively managed ETFs do not track an index of stocks, but rather depend on portfolio managers to decide which assets to include. Investors can benefit from these funds, but they are more expensive than passive ETFs.
