What are indices?
Indices are a measure of the price performance of a group of exchange-traded shares. They are also referred to as market indices. For example, the FTSE 100 is an index that tracks the performance of the top 100 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. Trading indices allows them to gain exposure to an entire economy or industry at once while only requiring them to place a single position.
