What is this unit of measurement?
The satoshi is the smallest unit of measurement that can be recorded in bitcoin blockchains. A satoshi is represented by a decimal, seven zeros, and a 1, followed by one of the bitcoin tickers, which can be Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin SV (BSV), or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) (BCH). To give you an idea, it is represented in scientific notation as 0.0000000001 or 1.0 * 1.0 * 10-8.

SAT, or satoshi, is a term that is becoming more common in everyday blockchain and crypto project discussions. Indeed, Bitcoin mining software, such as HoneyMiner, pays miners in SAT.

This terminology can be found not only in the blockchain, but also in social networks. One example is the creation of the hashtag #StackingSats, which is frequently used on the social network Twitter. The Lightning Torch, on the other hand, was posted on SAT. Lightning Torch is a Bitcoin scalability solution that allows for the creation of a second layer where transactions can take place without having to record those transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain.
