The Sandbox is a decentralised virtual game universe powered by Ethereum software. At its core, The Sandbox is a game in which players can purchase digital parcels of land called LAND and build experiences on top of them to share with other users.

In addition to the NFT-type LAND token, the Sandbox contains two more native tokens that govern the activities in its metaverse:

SAND tokens - These tokens are used to support various gaming transactions such as acquiring LAND, communicating with user-generated content, and staking them to participate in the administration of the decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO).
