What is Polygon, and how does it relate to Ethereum?
Polygon is a blockchain ecosystem designed to improve the scalability and usability of Ethereum. It provides infrastructure that allows decentralized applications (dApps), users, and developers to conduct transactions more efficiently, often with lower costs than using Ethereum's main network directly.

Ethereum is a major blockchain platform that supports smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), NFTs, and thousands of other applications. However, high demand on Ethereum can sometimes result in network congestion and increased transaction fees. Polygon was developed to address some of these challenges by providing scaling technologies and networks that can process transactions more efficiently while maintaining compatibility with Ethereum's ecosystem.

The relationship between Polygon and Ethereum is therefore complementary rather than simply competitive. Ethereum provides the underlying Layer 1 ecosystem, while Polygon offers scaling solutions intended to make blockchain applications more accessible and efficient. Users may choose between them depending on factors such as transaction costs, application requirements, security considerations, and network availability.
