What is DeFi?
One of the most revolutionary uses of blockchain technology is Decentralized Finance (DeFi), also known as Open Finance Development. Through a decentralized environment, major financial functions such as lending, borrowing, risk management, trading, and investments become more accessible to everyone.
DeFi, or Decentralized Finance, refers to a revolutionary movement leveraging blockchain technology to recreate and improve upon traditional financial systems. Unlike traditional finance, DeFi operates without intermediaries like banks or financial institutions, utilizing decentralized networks such as Ethereum. Smart contracts, self-executing pieces of code, form the backbone of DeFi protocols, automating financial transactions and removing the need for centralized control.

DeFi applications offer a range of financial services, including lending, borrowing, trading, and yield farming, with users retaining control over their assets throughout the process. This open and permissionless nature fosters financial inclusion, allowing users worldwide to access financial services without traditional barriers. However, DeFi is not without risks, including smart contract vulnerabilities and market volatility. As the DeFi ecosystem continues to evolve, it challenges traditional finance paradigms, offering a more accessible and transparent alternative for individuals seeking financial autonomy.
