What is an ICO?
An initial coin offering (ICO) is similar to an initial public offering (IPO) of stocks, but the ICO offers tokens rather than stocks. The general public exchanges money for tokens, which serve as proof that the contract between buyer and issuer was fulfilled. The buyer then owns coins, or tokens, representing a value tied to the entity, with varying degrees of price fluctuation, usually depending on the state of the organisation.
