What is a staking pool?
Staking pools require cryptocurrency network users to pool funds in order to increase their chances of being chosen to validate blocks and earn block rewards.

The block reward is divided among pool stakeholders based on their share of the pool. This means that the rewards from a staking pool are typically lower than those from solo staking. However, earning rewards with solo staking requires a significant investment in the cryptocurrency network in question, as opposed to the consistent and predictable rewards from staking pools.

Staking pools are operated and managed by pool operators, who are frequently crypto exchanges and are responsible for keeping validator nodes operational. Users of the pool must store their funds in a specific blockchain address. The pool will charge you a small fee for this service.

Other options allow participants to stake directly from their wallets with pools. Cold staking, for example, allows users to join pools using a hardware wallet.

Users can easily participate in the security of a cryptocurrency network through staking pools without having the technical knowledge of managing and running a node.
A staking pool is a collective resource in blockchain-based cryptocurrency networks, where participants combine their resources to increase the chances of successfully validating and verifying transactions on a proof-of-stake (PoS) or delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) blockchain. In PoS systems, participants can "stake" their cryptocurrency holdings to support network operations and earn rewards. In a staking pool, multiple users pool their stakes, consolidating their resources to improve the likelihood of being chosen as the validator for a new block. This cooperative approach enables smaller stakeholders to participate in the block validation process, as the collective stake increases the chances of receiving block rewards. Staking pools often distribute rewards proportionally to each participant based on their contribution to the pool, providing a more consistent and predictable income stream compared to individual staking. Staking pools contribute to the decentralization and efficiency of blockchain networks while promoting broader community involvement.
