Although Backyard has not officially announced a token launch or an airdrop, it has introduced Backyard BBQ Season 0, an active rewards campaign that closely resembles the pre-token incentive programs previously used by several Solana-based projects before their Token Generation Events (TGEs). As a result, many participants view the campaign as a speculative opportunity to earn XP and badges that could potentially become valuable if a token is introduced in the future, although no such reward has been confirmed.
Season 0 features a seven-tier, kitchen-themed progression system. Participants begin as a Junior Cook (Tier 7) and can advance through Steward, Station Chef, Sauce Chef, Deputy Chef, and Head Chef, with the ultimate goal of reaching Executive Chef (Tier 1). Users earn XP primarily by creating investment strategies and depositing assets into vaults. Progress is accelerated through three key multipliers: the size of deposits, consecutive holding streaks, and participation in partner vaults. Badges earned during Season 0 will carry over into Season 1, where a participant's tier is expected to determine the level of APY boost once reward multipliers and incentive programs are activated. The higher the badge tier achieved, the greater the potential APY enhancement. While future token rewards remain unconfirmed, the campaign offers an opportunity for users to position themselves early within the Backyard ecosystem.
