NEWS RELEASES ARE THE BIGGEST MOVES IN THE FOREX MARKET

Forex is most volatile during high-impact news releases, such as NFP, CPI, Retail Sales, Interest Rate Determinations, etc. Other than that, you are essentially speculating, but not always.

There are several factors that effect the market. As a trader you would be keeping track of important news, but you also need to consider factors underlying those news and others which also have an impact. Some examples include political and economic decisions and situations, the inflation, decisions made by central banks and interest rates, decisions made by OPEC, changes in the prices of gold, silver, oil.
